~ Favorite Things ~
Let's see, that's a tall order! First and foremost will always be my love for God and his son, Jesus, without whom I'd have no future, on Earth or in Heaven.
My family is so very dear to me and also ranks at the top of my list. These are my boys a few years back and recently.

My love for my country would have to be after my family. Although, it seems the country I remember from my youth, a country bound in tradition and Godly values, is quickly fading. I pray for the return of a country that recognizes the necessity of our Lord God and the salvation of his Son, Jesus Christ. Maybe, one day, we will see the return of our Christian heritage and a lessening of the chaos we see today. I found this video online and wanted to share it with you: My love of reading and writing is next. Although, both have taken a backseat lately to other more pressing matters that came with the passing of my parents. There was a time when story ideas bombarded me every day to the point that I would never leave the house without a small notebook and pen to jot down either the ideas or sometimes brief scenes. The last few years, though, have been quite busy, caring for my aging parents. Then when I lost them in 2006, I began the process of having to settle their estate, sell their house and about a million other responsibilities. It's been a struggle, physically and emotionally. I've tried, though, to keep my mind open and free to any story ideas. I'm proud to say that a few came to me around the holidays and I began to write those stories. Of course, I'm still in the process of getting my parents' things taken care of, but my goal is to begin writing fast and furious in the next few months. I really would like to try and have several books published within a year or less. Most importantly, the sequels, the Christmas novella and at least one of the single-titles. The next favorite thing would have to be our favorite teams: The Dallas Mavericks and the Dallas Cowboys. We do follow the Texas Rangers and the Stars, but by far, we're Maverick fans all the way!!
The Power of Maverick Determination! Here's a favorite I share with most of the world...I love chocolate, especially the kind with nuts. All kinds of nuts. Now, I don't like to admit that because my hubby always teases me with "You are what you eat!" I also love coconut and have acquired a healthy taste for dark chocolate. This makes "Mounds" one of my favorite treats. As it turns out, dark chocolate (2 bricks a day) will provide a fair dosage of antioxidants, although I take my Hybrids for Women faithfully, which have an antioxidant and a digestive enzyme. Very good packet to take daily if you want to become healthy, strong, energetic...and stay that way! I also make a berry protein shake each morning using 1% milk, Orange fiber powder by Arbonne, frozen strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and half a banana, all mixed in my blender. Talk about antioxidants!! It's a great way to start the day. We have four dogs that we love dearly. One of those is a new puppy named Elsie May, and she's a sweetie.
Our other three are pound puppies, though they're nearly two years old now. Two are brothers, Scooter & Bandit, that we bought together. We didn't have the heart to separate them. The other is a female, Lady, who belonged to my mother. Dad had already passed away, but when she passed on less than two weeks later, we took her in and she runs the backyard like an Army sergeant! She's a sweetie, though, and loves to have her tummy petted and play fetch. I love to sing any time, any place, but mostly in church. I sing with the radio or with a CD in the car, which drives my kids nuts. Don't misunderstand, I sing very well. They're just at that "Don't embarrass me" age. Not that I ever would.... NOT! LOL

Enjoy!! When bored or depressed, my favorite thing is shopping...but, of course. I have the bills to prove it. But not just shopping to shop. I love to shop for the perfect bargain! What a rush it is to get a pair of $60 jeans for $12.99! I've vowed to make my next favorite thing a good exercise program. It's my late, late, late 2008 New Year's resolution. I've already purchased several clothing items one size smaller, just to make sure I stay serious about it. I'm encouraging my hubby to work out with me, so we can motivate each other. I want to lose (to start) 35 lbs by the end of 2008. We'll see.... Just for fun, I've made a list of my top 10 actors. These are gentlemen I'll watch on TV or in the movies any time, any place. What great talent! They aren't in any particular order, but I have to confess that Will Smith is at the very top of my list. His God-given charisma is something seldom seen on the big screen any more. Though the other men on this list have their whopping fair share as well.
